Historic start in Paris

The Paris Lights opened their AFLE story with a 30-8 win over the Firenze Red Lions. Even more important than the result: the new franchise immediately found a connection that can give its offense an identity.

Quarterback Evan Hillock and wide receiver Tristen Wallace were at the center of it. After a slightly rocky start, Paris found rhythm – and that duo changed the direction of the game.

Hillock finds Wallace

Hillock completed 18 of 27 passes for 256 yards and three touchdowns. Two of those scores went to Wallace, who finished with 4 receptions for 116 yards and two touchdowns.

The deep connection to Wallace became the moment that opened the game. Paris gained confidence, Firenze came under pressure and the Lights played with more freedom from there.

A concept with future

The roster idea behind it is also interesting. Paris deliberately leaned into a Canadian quarterback and American receivers. Hillock got weapons, Wallace got a playmaker and the offense got an identity.

For AFLE, this is a strong signal. Paris is not just participating; Paris can start writing its own story early.

The first win is on the board – and Hillock to Wallace may already be the first big connection in Paris.
