Thunder get their first win

Berlin Thunder responded in the right way in the AFLE. On the road at the Alpine Rams, Berlin won 24-14 and earned its first victory of the season. It was a hard-earned win in a game that lost its rhythm even before kickoff.

Technical issues delayed the start by more than two hours. Neither team scored in the first quarter, but Berlin then took control with 17 unanswered points in the second. Quarterback Jakeb Sullivan spread the ball to six different receivers and threw three touchdowns.

Alpine stayed alive through Gabriel Cunningham, who rushed for two scores. But Berlin was more efficient in the key situations, converting 7 of 16 third downs. Thunder move to 1-1, while Alpine are still searching for their first win.

Berlin did not need perfection – one strong second quarter was enough.
