Paris win the Battle of the Border
The Paris Lights earned a crucial AFLE Week 5 road victory, beating the Alpine Rams 23-22 in Switzerland and moving to 2-2 on the season.
The game was physical from the start. Jens Walter opened the scoring for Paris, while Armand Soulerot added power on the ground.
Defense and special teams shape the game
After halftime, Paris defender Valentin Gnahoua turned an interception into a 29-yard touchdown. Linebacker Tiberio Calbucci was also a major factor against the run.
Alpine fought back through Jared Scott and an explosive special-teams sequence, including a blocked kick that Nickson Massa returned for a touchdown.
Bede decides it late
Boris Bede delivered the decisive kick for Paris in the closing stages. Alpine had strong moments, but Paris found the final answer in a one-point win.
